PEACE

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. ⁷ And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:6-7)



Have you ever had a circumstance that you didn't understand? You tried viewing it from every possible perspective. You started to ask, “What are they thinking? Why did they do that? How could this happen? Don't they know _____? Why God?"

When I experience confusion because I don't understand the plan God has I have to hold on to the promises of His word. In my post today I want to offer encouragement through some promises found in the Scriptures. My prayer is that you allow these precious promises to take root in your heart and allow healing and peace to comfort your mind and spirit.

* God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. (1. Cor. 14:33)

*God loves you. (John 3:16)

*God wants the best for your life. (John 10:10)

*God knows what the future holds and He has thoughts of peace and hope towards you. (Jer. 29:11)

*God wants us to enjoy the life He has given us. (1 Tim. 6:17)

Wow! Those promises are powerful.

Prayer- "God I know the confusion I am feeling is not from you Father, or what you desire for my life. Thank you for allowing me to grow though the confusion and to trust you more with perfect peace that passes all understanding. I am overwhelmed by your love for me and your desire for your best in my life. I put my trust in a God who knows the future and thinks good thoughts towards me. Thank you for the life that you have given me to enjoy. May I use this precious life to bring glory and honor to your name. Amen"

When nothing else in life makes sense and I am surrounded by confusion I can hold tight to the promises that in the end it will all work for good (Romans 8:28). A long time ago a friend said to me "If it is not all good then it is not the end!"

Hold on to the Promises and let the peace that passes all understand keep and guard your hearts.

Real Marriage

I bought this book to read for a road trip that Daniel and I were going to take. I finished about half of it on the trip. When we returned home I asked Daniel if we could read it together. Daniel started reading it and finished the book in one sitting. He said that this book would be beneficial to our marriage and asked me to finish reading. This was a huge surprise because this is one of the only books my husband has ever asked me to read. I am a reader but I have not read a book since I finished school (almost 6 months ago)! I will start reading this book again from the beginning.
While I was reading this book through the first time I praying about if I should continue because the writer of the book is from a different "school of theology" than I (just because its different doesn't make it wrong). As I prayed about it and spoke with my husband I came to the conclusion that it is fine to read this book and to recommend to others who would benefit from it because the material is honoring to Christ and what is close to his heart (marriage). As a Christian, I ultimately need to focus on things that are going to bring me closer to Christ, build His kingdom, and strengthen my marriage.

Tip:
When I read I keep a journal close by (on my smart phone) so I can take notes to reference the material when I really needed it. I know some people write in the margin or highlight in their books, however I tend to lend my books out to others so the journal works best for me. My suggestion is to take notes, anyway that works best for you.

This is me, Alex Marie. I am a 26 year old who is full of life and has a lot to share. Oh my, where to begin. To start I am a Christian and I make no apology for this. I strive to serve Christ and honor Him with my life. I have surrendered to career ministry and can't wait until He opens that door.

I am happily married and enjoying life with my wonderful husband! We met in college but didn't start dating until we were in seminary. I am blessed to be building a life with a man who loves God more than he loves me and he loves me more than he loves himself. Our home is built on the Principles of Prov. 3:5-6.

We are learning to serve in the local church and cannot wait to see what God has planned for our lives. We desire to see people place their trust in Christ and develop a genuine faith relationship with the Lord. This blog will share my perspective of our journey through this side of Heaven and anything that will make the most of the time we are given.
